Based On Osceola, Florida Case #s Enter 49-2018-CF-000952 or 49-2018-CF-000799 Lesson 3 - Hire your own lawyer. The state attorney prosecutor does not work for you. How Much Effort Did The ASAPut Into It: -- The confession text controlled by the Sheriff: The ASA didn't know it existed until after he scheduled the plea date certain. At this point, I believe he already made the deal and there was no turning back. He got excited when he saw how the rapist tried to back out of it, but he (the rapist) started apologizing again. For a minute there, I think he panicked that he had to actually charge them with rape. -- The nurse I saw at urgent care that sent me to the ER, was my outcry witness. They didn't even go to the facility until a year and a day after I was there. Then it took them another month to find her, even though I turned in the name and phone number for the nurse when I turned these guys in. The ASA claimed the nurse doesn't remember you told her you were raped. Listen to the Evidence File...she clearly says, two men had sex with her, and she didn't want to...they forced her to have sex, she was scared... I didn't get the evidence for a year, so I caved into the plea because I didn't even think about the fact if he didn't know there was a confession, what made me think he actually listened to the nurse's interview.
LOOKING FOR A LAWYER: Try to get a lawyer that is female, if you were raped by men. This will soften the blow if you loose. Also, try to find one that used to be a State Prosecutor in the same district they are holding the trial/charges. She may have some inside information as to how to win a case in the SAO . Know who knows whom...
THEIR LAWYER: See what their lawyers have in common with the ASA. You might find they worked for the same office and/or have alumni connections to mach trial contests in California... Just watch out for who they are associated with. They could even be on the board committee that investigates other lawyers to see if they need to be disciplined by the State Bar Association. This is good to know if you decide to make a complaint on your prosecutor for misconduct. Its a who knows who world out there. |
