WHO AM I?

I am currently a student at the University of Central Florida. My major is legal studies. I also have a degree in Christian Counseling with secular education in Clinical Depression, Youth Suicide, and Crisis Point Mental Health. I am a Presidential Member of the American Association of Christian Counseling and both the Orange and Osceola County Bar Associations.  I have a vast array of experience in community outreach and martial arts. Unfortunately I am also educated by life experience on extreme Domestic Violence, Kidnapping, Torture and Gang Rape. Most likely I can honestly state, "I know what you are going through".

I intend to use my education and life experiences to advocate for you (victims) at your most vulnerable state. You are now a Witness to your own Crime. You are in the  justice system. During a time you are fragile and weakened by the malfeasance of someone else, you are faced with the humiliation and degradation of having to report the details of your attack. The system can be confusing, accusing and harsh at times and you need someone that can be strong for you. I am that person. I am ready to fight in your corner and help guide you through this scary process.

WE CAN GET THROUGH THIS TOGETHER - I  KNOW THE WAY

MY CASE

My time with the Justice System was grueling and unfair. When an injustice is done to you in the Justice System. It is hard to trust again.

VICTIMS'S RIGHTS

You need to know your rights. You are a victim, but the system only sees you as a witness. You are not told your rights even though it is the law for the state to tell you. You are handed a pamphlet with a list of a few rights you have, but nothing that compares to the State Constitution.

LESSONS LEARNED (As a Victim)

When you say to yourself, if I knew then what I know now. I decided to post some of the lessons I have learned. Read through these as a victim or not, so you will not fall into the pitfalls I experienced

BOOKS WRITEN BY RAPE VICTIMS

Here is a list of books I have read, that were written by victims of sexual assault. As I was reading I discovered I am not so different. I thought I was crazy, but I was not.  It is amazing how assaults that may differ in details create the same emotions in the victims. Feelings of fear, anxiety, loathing, and depression. These brave women were capable of writing their experiences down in a format that is easily understood. We are not alone.
